About Dr Peprah-Gyamfi
Dr Robert Peprah-Gyamfi, was born about six decades ago (his birth was not officially recorded) at Mpintimpi, a little village about 150 kilometres to the north of Accra, Ghana’s capital city.
As a young schoolboy he had to face a catalogue of difficulties and challenges, surviving illnesses and horrendous treatments by traditional doctors, and attending school in spite of having to traverse remote bush paths. After completing his Sixth Form education in Ghana, he managed under challenging circumstances to make it to the then West Germany in 1982. After overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds in his new environment, he eventually gained admission to the Hanover Medical School in 1984.
On completion of his medical training as a General Practitioner (Family Doctor), he practiced in Germany for a while before moving to the UK in 2006.
Dr Peprah-Gyamfi combines his work as a GP with that of writing and evangelism. He has so far written 18 books covering various topics, including Christianity, health education and burning socio-political issues. All are available on the online bookstore.
He is married to Rita, a fellow soldier of the Cross of Calvary. The pair have three lovely children: Karen, David and Jonathan.
Dr Peprah-Gyamfi in his own words: “Having, through the hand of Providence, escaped the deep abyss of deprivation and poverty I was born into in the humble settings of my little village Mpintimpi, to qualify as a GP in the affluent West, I feel duty bound, in my own small way, to help the residents of my place of birth in particular and the disadvantaged in general, escape from destitution, want, deprivation and what have you.”
