Heaven and Earth International Ministry

ABOUT THE HEAVEN AND EARTH INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY

It is an evangelist ministry, dedicated not only in the spread of the Gospel but also in carrying out charitable ventures geared in particular towards poverty alleviation. In this connection, the ministry draws particular inspiration from the verse:

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be
naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:14-17 (KJV)

THE HEAVEN AND EARTH INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY

I am hereby announcing the launch of the Heaven and Earth International Ministry with effect from July 1, 2020.
The name “Heaven and Earth” was not chosen by accident, but rather after careful thought. The name does indeed reflect the very core principle of the ministry, the driving force of the ministry. The “heaven” aspect of the ministry will be devoted to preaching the Word of
God; the “earth” aspect will deal with the problems of this world, in particular, the issue of poverty alleviation
It is indeed my conviction that as we spread the good news of salvation, we should also do what we can to alleviate suffering on earth. There are many passages of scripture that urge us to do just that. The ministry draws particular inspiration from the following two passages of scripture:

  • What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a
brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2: 14-17 (NIV)
  • Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the
rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31: 8-9 (NIV)

Apart from scripture, the ministry also draws inspiration from the words of a fellow Christian soldier as quoted below:
“Christ has no body now on earth but yours; no hands but yours; no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which the compassion of Christ must look out on the world. Yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which He is to bless His people.” Saint Teresa of Avila (1515-1582).

As already indicated, Heaven and Earth International Ministry will not restrict itself to the spread of the Gospel. It will also, whenever it deems necessary, engage in discourses touching on some of the socio-political issues of our times—from a Christian perspective, of course.
Indeed, whilst not harbouring any illusions that the sinful heart of humanity can create heaven on earth, the Ministry will for example not shun the writing of articles, devoid of abusive language, to politely appeal to the consciences of the corrupt politicians involved, drawing their attention to the adverse effects their selfish and greedy deeds have on the poor, the deprived and downtrodden of their society. While the politicians involved may choose to neglect our appeal, we on our part will have, in our view, fulfilled our Christian duty.

We are calling on your support. Yes, you are welcome to assist us in whatever way the Lord touches your heart to do—through prayer, through winning other supporters, through donations, etc.

Thank you very much for your time. May the good Lord bless us and keep us in his grace.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?   If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:14-26 (KJV)

I have been inspired by this passage of scripture to set up this ministry. Having myself benefited from the kindness of others in my journey from my little village in Ghana to medical school in Germany, I feel duty bound to do what I can to alleviate suffering.
I have not lost sight of the fact that the topmost priority of our Christian calling is to spread the good news of salvation. Yes indeed, it is imperative for us to spread the word of God at every opportunity. My duty is to point out the salvation offered through the Lord Jesus. If the lord will make you free you will be free indeed.
Indeed, I have throughout my life journey from my little village in Africa to Europe noted one thing—that human beings, no matter where they live, yearn for meaning in their lives, a yearning that, as far as I am concerned, can be fulfilled only through communion with Almighty God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are called, as Christian soldiers, not only to lead others to the heavenly home, but also whenever it is in our means, to provide for their material needs along the journey: “If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?”

That is exactly what the Heaven and Earth Ministry intends to do with the financial means that the Lord will place at our disposal.
Dear reader, you are invited to come on board to help in this endeavour—in whatever ways the Lord touches your heart to do, be it prayer support, active engagement as a volunteer, providing financial donations, etc.
